I would use a transformational leadership style to lead interprofessional teams in the following ways. First, I would use the leadership style to manage conflicts that may arise in the course of practice. This is because the approach to leadership encourages open communication and promotes a culture of collaboration. Besides, transformational leadership has been found effective in helping leaders empathize with team members and involving them in the decision-making process. Moreover, the transformational leadership style also helps solve conflicts that arise in teams by creating a positive environment where each member feels valued, appreciated, and respected.
As a leader, I would use the transformational leadership style to foster a sense of belonging and identity among members of interprofessional team. I would do this by emphasizing the common vision and goals from time to time and celebrating the contributions of each member to the success of the team. Moreover, I will use a transformational leadership style to deal with resistance in diverse team. Resistance may hinder the progress and performance of a team and damage the relationship between team members. I will use this leadership style to explain to various members of the team the benefits of the change and discuss with them issues of concern. This is because the approach to leadership encourages feedback from team members and their contribution to decision-making. Transformational leadership would also empower me to reward the achievements of team members.

This is because there is a strong direct relationship between team commitment and team effectiveness. Also, members of a team who are committed increase the likelihood of improving care outcomes. A transformational leadership style would help me improve the quality of decisions I make while leading interprofessional teams. In conclusion, there are different leadership styles and models that are classified and developed based on the behaviors of managers while directing, motivating, and guiding employees. Individuals in leadership positions can shift from one leadership model or style to another over time or in different settings. Transformational leaders motivate their subjects by being positive in communicating their vision and motivating subjects to keep pushing forward. Democratic leadership style opens the stage for juniors to participate in discussing ideas and decision-making. Autocratic leadership is one that leaders do not consider the input of juniors when making decisions. In autocratic leadership, junior staff are expected to follow what they are told without question. The charismatic leadership style is founded on strong communication skills, charm, and persuasiveness. Leaders using the transactional style of leadership reward performing and reprimands those that are underperforming. The bureaucratic approach to leadership has a clear chain of command and strict regulations. Transformational leadership is the approach that best fits my style of leadership. APA
