Transformational Leadership in Healthcare Settings
A DNP leader is someone who has made notable contributions to the advancement of the nursing practice, influenced healthcare policy and heavily invested in the education of patients. The leadership styles used by DNP leaders may vary based on preferences, specific roles assigned, and the cultural context. However, it is important that a DNP leader match their leadership style to the population they are addressing. It is also beneficial that the leadership style be presented in a manner that stimulates and motivates the population to engage with the message and act on the the audience, then engagement and change will not take place. This reflective journal will identify a population of interest and compare and contrast three motivational or leadership methods that were noted from my DNP Seminar series or other academic coursework or professional literature.
