A natural disaster is a catastrophic or devastating event that results from natural processes of the Earth. Natural disasters often cause significant damage to the environment, human life, and property. Examples of natural disasters include earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, hurricanes, droughts, wildfires, and landslides.  Several natural disasters have occured in the United States in the last 10 years. For instance, Hurricane Harvey occured in 2017 and caused catastrophic flooding and extensive damage in the Houston metropolitan area. Similarly, Hurricane Maria hit Puerto Rico in 2017  and led to widespread destruction and a humanitarian crisis. Natural disasters in USA

Furthermore, Hurricane Michael occured in 2018, making landfall in the Florida Panhandle. This hurricane was considered a category 5 and led to the destruction of lives and property. California Wildfires happend between 2017 and 2020 and was associated with major wildfires such as the Camp Fire in 2018. The camp fire destroyed the town of Paradise and was also associated with significant loss of life and property. The other natural dissaster that happened in the USA is the Hurricane Florence that struck the Carolinas in 2018. It resulted in extensive flooding and damage of lives and property. Moreover, Midwest Floods happened in 2019 causing flooding in Nebraska, Iowa, and Missouri.  Furthermore, Hurricane Dorian is yet another natural disaster that happend in 2019. Although it did not strike in the U.S., its effects such as strong winds and strom surgtes were felt in the southeastern U.S.

The other natural disaster is the Tennessee Tornadoes, which occured in 2020 in Tennessee state causing destructive tornadoes in Nashville. Texas Winter Storm is a natural disaster that happened in 2021 across Texas. It was associated with severe winter storm caused widespread power outages, water supply issues, and property damage.
