Media and Popular Culture

Media and Popular CultureMedia and Popular Culture *Assignment #2 *Assignment #2 Assignment Content Your task is to create a simple infographic (a photoquote) on the topic of media and popular culture like the one shown in the Zoom class. (If you didn’t attend the class, I recommend you watch the recording.) Watch this quick video What is an Infographic? to learn how they function and help focus your work. Remember that your infographic will be a photoquote (one image and one quotation only; See an example watch this week’s Zoom class.) It should be thought-provoking and original. There are two parts to this assignment. Part A Create* and submit a photoquote (with citations).
This photoquote includes an image and a quotation on the topic of media and popular culture. This pairing needs to make sense: The meaning of the quotation should be enhanced by the image. You can select a quotation and image through research, but they must relate to ideas and conversations we have covered in the class so far. I have posted links to finding free images online and copyright help below. Furthermore, the quotation must be from a reputable source. (Consider our media literacy unit and the CRAP test as you select your quotation.) As we discussed in class, do not feel bound by geography; Feel free to explore media outside of North America.
Just note that your quotation must be in English, and it must have been originally published/posted in English. Part B Offer a brief explanation of about 100-150 words exploring a) how the photoquote relates to course content that we have covered so far this term b) why you have selected the particular image and quotation Be as specific as possible. For instance, saying the photoquote relates to radio is not specific enough.

Media and Popular Culture
