Marketing Plan
Marketing refers to activities undertaken by individuals or companies to promote the buying or selling of products or services. To achieve efficiency and effectiveness in marketing, individuals and companies employ various marketing strategies. Similarly, I have developed a strategy to market and secure mortgage referral sources, real estate agents, school connections, auto dealerships, and Human resources through whom I can talk to their company employees. My plan entails participating in community events, use of social media platforms, and deriving referrals from sales. This paper aims not only to describe my marketing plan but also discuss the career goals I have for myself.
A community gathering consisting of 50 people or more is one of my targets in the marketing plan. Community events present the best opportunity to market because a marketer can engage customers through word-of-mouth (Baxi, Panda, & Karani, 2016). As a community member, I am more likely to win the trust of community members. Baxi, Panda, & Karani, (2016) observed that community gatherings are convened frequently implying that I will have an opportunity to meet new prospective customers. I consider community marketing as more effective because many people in the local villages often travel far from where they live to have their car insurances renewed. The use of social media platforms to reach prospective customers is increasingly becoming a popular marketing strategy. Research shows that the use of social media grew from less than 2.5 billion people in 2017 to more than 3.8 billion people currently (Jacobson, Gruzd, & Hernández-García, 2020).Through the use of platforms such as Facebook, LinkedIn, and Twitter, I can connect with prospective homeowners or car insurance buyers. Marketing through social media is considered as the most cost-effective and versatile strategy, especially for growing businesses (Jacobson, Gruzd, & Hernández-García, 2020). Social media platforms can help me to increase awareness about the car insurance and homeowner services that I offer to a wider range of prospective customers. It is also important to note that more than 97 percent business marketers today are using social media platforms to increase sales.
My last strategy in the marketing plan is to derive referrals from sales. In other words, I will use my already served customers to get other prospective customers on board. I find this strategy interesting because one family member that has been satisfied with the services that I offer will communicate with other family members who will also refer to their friends. Marketing through referrals is also effective as many people referred by their friends or their loved ones are more likely to accept the offer (Condorelli, Galeotti, & Skreta, 2018). To achieve this, I will start giving discounts to repeat customers and also monetary incentives for every referral. Offering discounts will help me to increase referrals and also enable me to reach many people within a short period. Additionally, I will offer my services at competitive prices more than any of my competitors are doing. Lastly, I will endeavor to focus on customer satisfaction as a competitive strategy.
Career goals
I have three career goals for myself. One is to make as many tenants as possible homeowners. My second career goal is to enhance the safety of both cars and their owners by offering competitive car insurance plans. My third and last career goal is to build a strong brand that will enable me to increase sales.
