Currently there are three types of Health Information Exchanges (HIE). Describe each type. Consider your organization or the DNP practice site where you are implementing your DNP project. Review the National Standards of HIT and describe how data is exchanged.

Health Information Exchanges (HIEs) facilitate the secure sharing of patient health information across different healthcare organizations and systems. The first one is Directed Exchange (Push Model), which allows healthcare providers to send and receive secure, encrypted patient information directly to another healthcare provider to support coordinated care. Also, it requires prior knowledge of the recipient and is commonly used between providers who have a pre-established relationship.

Query-Based Exchange (Pull Model) is a type of HIE that enables providers to search for and request (pull) patient information from other healthcare organizations, often in real time. It is used in emergency care when the patient cannot communicate their history. Besides, it helps in accessing a patient’s medical history from other institutions during an unplanned visit. However, it requires patient consent and appropriate authorization and is valuable for uncoordinated or unexpected care settings.
Consumer-Mediated Exchange is a type of HIE empowers patients to access, manage, and share their own health information with chosen providers. It is used when patients downloading their records from a portal and sharing with a new specialist ans using personal health records (PHRs) or apps to track and transmit medical data. Also, this tool enhances patient engagement and autonomy and requires robust privacy and data security measures

Describe how you will use data in your DNP project. Why is the data important? What are some of the challenges of capturing and reporting reliable and valid data?
In my DNP project, I will use data systematically to inform, guide, and evaluate the intervention designed to improve cultural competence among the workforce. APA
